"Shibusawa Hyakun Manju" was newly developed as part of the "Tokyo Kita Ward Shibusawa Eiichi Project Promotion Project" promoted by Kita Ward, Tokyo, which is a place related to Eiichi Shibusawa, the main character of the historical drama "Seiten wo Kake." We were asked by Wantei Co., Ltd. to create a package.
Wantei Co., Ltd. has been entrusted with staff-related duties at the Shibusawa Historical Museum in Asukayama, Kita-ku, Tokyo. The person in charge of product development at the company also had a strong feeling for this product, which bears Eiichi Shibusawa's name. At the initial consultation stage, we let them know our strong feelings: ``We want people to experience Shibusawa's worldview, not just a steamed bun,'' and ``We want it to be a souvenir that will be loved by Shibusawa for many years to come and represent this region.'' I received it.
Recognizing this idea, we created a team structure in which designers also participated in meetings together with sales staff, thinking, ``We want to make your wishes a reality as much as possible.''
Furthermore, we were approached about a plan to ``include each of Eiichi Shibusawa's 100 mottos in Individual packaging of steamed buns.'' In this project, we will prepare 100 different designs for Individual packaging to ensure that the message is not biased. If you are in charge of product development, wouldn't the cost increase significantly if you had to make 100 types of each design? Initially, we were asked to put stickers on transparent Individual packaging.
Suggestion 1

The person in charge was very happy when we proposed a package with 100 different messages called ``Shibusawa Hyakken'' and an outer box that would be perfect for gift giving.

I believe that packaging has an important role in connecting customers and products. That's why when we create packaging, we listen carefully to the thoughts of those who created the product so that we can convey their thoughts, and we try to think from the customer's perspective. I would like to continue pursuing what customers really want and, if possible, be able to offer proposals that exceed their expectations. There is a lot to learn while working, but I would like to continue learning because I think it will lead to making customers happy.

What we value every day is ``empathizing with our customers' ideas for products and giving them shape.'' Package design is an important part of the product. As we worked with Wantei to develop the packaging from scratch through trial and error, we thought about how to convey the appeal of the product, how to get people to pick it up, how to increase awareness, and create value. I will continue to work hard to build trust with my customers and become a designer that they will say ``I'm glad I entrusted them to me!''
