About LIMEX
What is LIMEX?
LIMEX is a product developed by TBM Co., Ltd., and is a recyclable, environmentally friendly material whose main raw material is limestone. It is made from a mixture of limestone (calcium carbonate) and thermoplastic resin, and has the function of replacing plastic and paper. Limestone is abundant throughout the world, and Japan is also a self-sufficient resource. By using limestone, it is possible to conserve resources that are at high risk of depletion, such as oil, forest resources, and water resources.
LIMEX Sheet is made by molding LIMEX into a uniform sheet and is currently used by more than 10,000 companies and local governments (including registered businesses as of November 2022) as an alternative to various plastic and paper products. Compared to paper, LIMEX Sheet can significantly reduce the amount of water used during production. In addition, compared to petroleum-based plastics, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide (CO₂) throughout the product's life cycle.
